Become a Foster Carer

Our foster carers are part of a very special team. Our multi-disciplinary teams are made up of experienced social workers and education staff, resource workers, health advisors and therapists, to ensure that all aspects of children's needs are addressed.

However their experience and expertise is used, our commitment to quality services remains the same. We understand that fostering can be every bit as demanding as it is rewarding. It’s a journey which can often be unpredictable. As a SWIIS foster carer you can be sure that we will be with you every step of the way to advise, support and sustain you through the highs and the lows, the anticipated and the unexpected.

What our carers say:

‘Foster caring has been harder than we expected but more worthwhile than anything we could imagine – and SWIIS helped to make that so.’

If you are going through a tough situation the support really kicks in”

The level of commitment we have received has been more than I expected – all the staff who work with us are professional, caring and dedicated”

“Their input is essential. As a carer I respect the knowledge and experience they have. They are a huge part of helping us cope with the children we look after and will continue to work alongside. They support us 100%.”

Training and development is a very important part of our service so you can expect training to help you become a carer, and then continuing professional development when you are in the job.
